Job Description This role oversees the Leave Management programs and policies, while also ensuring regulatory compliance with various Federal, State and Local laws. They serve as the primary point of contact for leave requests, communicating directly with team members advising them on appropriate leave processes and policies, and with the leave vendor for approvals. Assists with other areas of benefits.
Job Responsibilities & Requirements Job Duties:
Coordinates and administers employee leave programs (e.g., FMLA, disability, paid caregiver & parental, military, etc.) ensuring compliance with applicable policies and federal, state and local laws Serves as the primary point of contact for leave requests communicating directly with team members advising them on appropriate leave processes and policies, assisting with leave requests and escalations Maintains strong relationships with absence management / disability vendor and other vendor partners. Provides recommendations on policy and process changes to ensure compliance with applicable laws, high efficiency & effectiveness and alignment with overall company Total Rewards strategy. Acts as a resource to HR Business Partners and managers for ADA requests. Serves as subject matter expert on leave administration and ensures systems and administrative processes are consistent with compliance requirements Audits leave data and provides reporting metrics and analytics as requested. Provides training and resources that advise HR, managers and team members on the interaction of leave laws with paid time off, and short- and long-term disability benefits and other leave types as needed. Preserves confidentiality of employee health and sensitive information. Leads new program/vendor implementations and/or process improvements. Assists with other benefit programs and processes including U.S. annual open enrollment Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge:
2 years experience with Leaves of Absence, Benefits Administration or related area required Equivalent combination of experience and education which clearly indicates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position may substitute on a year for year basis Bachelors preferred Bilingual (Spanish) preferred 1-2 years experience with Workday HRIS preferred 1-2 years experience in customer service and administrative practices Microsoft applications Familiarity with regulatory framework governing benefits and HR including but not limited to HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, ERISA, ACA, and benefits-related DOL and IRS regulations.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both internal and external vendors and customers. Demonstrated ability in dealing with different levels of employees and the ability to maintain confidentiality of all employee data. Ability to exercise sound judgment, set priorities, organize, implement and administer effectively in all areas of accountability. Strong analysis and organizational skills; attention to detail. Ability to create and distribute end-user reports as needed, with various frequency & formats and assist internal and external customers in understanding the data.
