The Annex Teen Clinic provides sexual health care and education for young adults through age 25 in a friendly, non-judgmental, and comfortable atmosphere. Our services are low-cost, medically accurate, and developmentally appropriate. The Annex Teen Clinic has been providing services in Northwest Hennepin County and North Minneapolis since 1971.

Wages

$17.36 - $19.36 per hour

Benefits

Paid vacation time, sick time, and personal time policies, plus nine paid holidays per year and two floating holidays; competitive health, dental, and vision insurance offerings; Health Savings Account (HSA) with employer contributions up to $1,200/year for high deductible health plans, and options for Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA); There is employer paid basic life insurance with the option for additional coverage paid by the employee. The employer pays for Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) and short- and long-term disability insurance. ATC sponsors a retirement plan with a 3% employer contribution after one year of service.

Schedule

The clinic is open 9:00 am - 6:00 pm Monday-Thursday, 10:00 am - 2:00 pm Friday, and 10:00am - 2:00 pm on the first Saturday of every month. This role will have the flexibility to form a 35 hour per week schedule with these hours in mind, and the position may increase to 40 hours per week. Being able to work on Fridays is preferred.

A Typical Day in the Life...

A typical day as the Annex's Patient Services Representative provides an opportunity to serve as a community partner focused in STI risk/reduction services and sexuality education. Responsibilities will include the following:

Clinic Support



  • Provide excellent customer service to each patient visiting the clinic.
  • Check patients in upon arrival and check them out upon departure.
  • Conduct patient experience surveys to help shape and improve Annex's services.
  • Help patients schedule appointments in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Obtain insurance consent for billing services.
  • Provide customer service to incoming callers.
  • Prepare medical charts and handle sensitive and protected health information confidentially.
  • Support patients in accessing community resources.
  • Maintain the appearance of the clinic lobby.
  • Assist with clerical duties such as faxing, filing, and making copies.


Who You Are



  • You have a background or education in STI testing and risk reduction (preferred, but not required).
  • You bring experience working with diverse populations and communities.
  • You've worked in a clinic setting before, or you're eager to learn in one.
  • You are bilingual, or you're open to learning and communicating across language barriers (preferred).
  • You're a quick learner who's open to taking on a variety of tasks.
  • You have excellent communication skills and a solid understanding of nonprofit or community-based work.
  • You're self-motivated and able to work independently, while also thriving in a team-oriented environment.
  • You understand the importance of professionalism and providing excellent customer service.
  • You have experience working with individuals from lower socioeconomic backgrounds and are culturally responsive in your approach.
  • You're comfortable using Microsoft Office programs including Word, Access, Publisher, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • You're highly organized and able to juggle multiple priorities with clear communication.
  • You understand the importance of handling confidential information with care and integrity.
