Job Description

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

Responsible for executing events, presentations, meetings and other activities at a Lone Star College campus and/or it's associated Centers.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Works with clients (internal/external/community) during events, ensure equipment is set up and functioning correctly (includes, but not limited to, wireless technology, desktop computers, LCD projectors, electronic whiteboards)
  2. Works with clients/staff to ensure rooms are properly set up according to requirement (including furniture and equipment)
  3. Works with staff to remove furniture and clean as needed
  4. Troubleshoots equipment problems. Escalates to OTS when needed
  5. During after hour events, works with security and maintenance to ensure safety and comfort of attendees
  6. Must be able to work evenings and/or weekends and some day events
  7. Conducts periodical equipment maintenance to ensure equipment is functioning correctly
  8. Must be able to work under pressure, take directions, and be a team player
  9. Must be able to work without supervision
  10. Responsible for other reasonable related duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

* Must demonstrate good skills in communication (verbal and written), customer service, attention to detail and flexibility is required

* Strong organizational skills required

* Must be able to set priorities and adapt quickly to new needs

* Coordinate work of others without having supervisory authority

* Must be able to work weekend and evening events

  • Working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Formstack and Spotify
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills and the ability to efficiently multi-task, prioritize assignments, meet deadlines, and solve routine problems
  • Working knowledge of general office practices and procedures
  • Ability to work well with others in a fast paced, service-orientated environment

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have full range of mobility in upper and lower body; be able to reach overhead; be able to work in various positions, including stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling and squatting for extended periods of time; be able to lift, pull and push materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks; and be able to frequently lift 50 pounds.

WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS:

  • Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone, and other general office equipment
  • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
  • Work is performed both indoors and outdoors and may be exposed to outdoor conditions
  • Operate vehicles including golfcarts, and pick-up trucks

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED
Salary

Hourly Pay Rate is $13.52 per hour
