Overview

Milliman's Indianapolis Health practice is seeking a qualified Proposal Coordinator to join our Business Development team. This role adds value to the practice by maintaining responsibility for the coordination of a variety of resources needed to find, review, and create responses to request for proposals (RFPs) that successfully grow our public and private sector client base. This individual is an essential member of our Business Development team, who understands both the importance of managing their independent work product and how to work collaboratively to serve a consulting practice of 250+ professionals.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will:



  • Organize and manage the development, review, and submission of a variety of projects, including: proposals, bids, quotations, RFP responses, and other written/oral communications describing products and services in response to requests from prospective clients
  • Review and analyze RFP requirements to ensure the proposal meets all criteria
  • Maintain a tracking system for RFPs and related documents
  • Ensure all proposals are submitted in a timely manner
  • Coordinate debrief sessions with the proposal team, as needed
  • Assist with the preparation of presentation materials, graphics, written responses, and other proposal collateral as needed within the proposal process
  • Manage surveillance of upcoming public sector procurement activities, including state legislation and budget items
  • Collaborate and coordinate with internal contributors, technical writers, and subject matter experts to ensure content is complete and accurate
  • Maintain a database of approved content for proposals
  • Other related marketing and business development responsibilities, as assigned


Qualifications



  • Demonstrated project management skills with experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Attention to detail
  • Time management skills; Commitment to meeting strict deadlines
  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, including use of styles and document automation features
  • Active listener with exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Proven success working independently and within a team-based environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the desire to cultivate and maintain long-term professional relationships

  • Willingness to learn new skills and offer input


Required



  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Marketing, Journalism, Communication, or a related field
  • 2+ years of work experience in technical writing, project management and/or business development


Preferred



  • Healthcare consulting industry experience, or related, including knowledge of Medicaid and other public sector healthcare programs

The Team

The Business Development Team spearheads practice efforts to achieve revenue goals through competitive procurements. We collaborate closely with subject matter experts across the practice, including senior leadership, principal consultants, project leaders, and more. Our responsibilities span the entire business development lifecycle from identifying new opportunities to ensuring successful contract execution. Additionally, we advise on strategic marketing initiatives, with a steadfast commitment to driving practice growth as our core mission.

Location

The person hired for this role will work in a dynamic, hybrid environment, with 2 to 3 days per week of on-site work required in our Indianapolis office on a weekly basis.

Compensation

The overall salary range for this role is $54,900 - $85,100. A combination of factors will be considered, including, but not limited to, education, relevant work experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, etc. In addition, we offer a performance-based bonus-plan, profit sharing, and generous benefits.
