How You'll Make an Impact Dudek is seeking an Engineer III with 6+ years of experience in water resources (surface water) engineering. This position provides planning and design support as part of a project team for surface water drainage and stormwater quality projects, predominantly focused on infrastructure related planning and design. The ideal candidate would be an EIT or professional engineer with experience in surface water related civil engineering. This position will be based out of our Liberty Station or Encinitas locations. Water resources professionals at Dudek work on innovative and relevant projects, frequently in a cross-discipline environment. Duties and Responsibilities * Perform stormwater hydrology and hydraulics calculations and modeling and stormwater quality and best management practice (BMP) design and analysis to support project designs.
Minimum Qualifications
* Develop and refine engineering plans, specifications, and technical reports. Project Management & Coordination: * Manage project phases or specific technical tasks, ensuring adherence to scope, budget, and schedule. * Coordinate with internal teams, clients, and regulatory agencies to meet project objectives. * Support project managers in tracking deliverables, budgets, and resource allocation. * Provide subject matter expertise in specialized engineering disciplines. * Review the work of junior engineers and offer guidance on technical approaches. * Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and best practices. * Conduct quality assurance reviews on engineering deliverables. * Identify technical challenges and implement solutions to maintain project integrity. * Ensure engineering work aligns with industry regulations and client expectations. * Act as a liaison between technical teams, project managers, and clients. * Present technical findings and project updates to stakeholders. * Assist in mentoring junior staff and contributing to team development. Professional Development & Innovation: * Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes. * Identify opportunities to improve engineering processes and efficiencies. * Participate in professional organizations and industry conferences. * Experience: 6+ years of experience in engineering or a related field, with a strong understanding of engineering principles.
Preferred Qualifications
* Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field) * Strong technical writing and communication skills * Engineer in Training (EIT) certificatio * California PE preferred
Proficiency with engineering software (AutoCAD, AES/CIVILD, HEC-RAS, FLO-2D, SWMM, ArcGIS, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite. * Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical writing skills. * Experience managing project components, budgets, and schedules. * Knowledge of industry codes, regulations, and best practices. Compensation:
$90,000-$125,000 annually
