Lubbock Director of Risk Management 41446BR Risk Management Position Description The Director of Risk Management is responsible for the strategic oversight and management of the university system's risk financing and insurance portfolio. This role focuses on optimizing risk transfer mechanisms, evaluating and implementing self-funding strategies, and ensuring comprehensive coverage for institutional exposures. The Director of Risk Management collaborates with internal stakeholders and external partners to develop innovative, cost-effective solutions that align with the university's risk tolerance and long-term financial goals. Major/Essential Functions
Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in related area required plus five years progressively responsible management experience. Additional education may substitute for experience on a year for year basis. Preferred Qualifications Advanced degree with 10 or more years of experience. Superior candidates will possess one or more of the following designations or degrees: Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter, Certified Insurance Counselor, Masters in Risk Management, Associate in Risk Management, Certified Risk Manager, or other related degree or designation.
