Job Summary

The Research Technician Assistant will work under the direction of Hannah Druckenmiller to conduct research in environmental economics and policy analysis. The group's research involves using quasi-experimental methods and large, geospatial data to analyze interdependencies between society and the environment. For example, there is work quantifying the natural hazard protection value of natural lands, developing new approaches for accounting for ecosystem services in environmental policy, and identifying cost-effective climate adaptation solutions.

Essential Job Duties
  • Downloads and processes large, geospatial datasets
  • Implements quasi-experimental research designs
  • Conducts literature reviews.
  • Participates in writing reports and manuscripts.
  • Presents research findings at lab meetings, seminars, and scientific conferences.
  • Assists with building databases.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in any of the following major fields: economics, business (with a concentration in economics), finance, public policy (with a concentration in economics), other social sciences (with quantitative training), mathematics, statistics, or computer science.
  • Experienced in R, Python, and/or Matlab.
  • Good communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree economics, business (with a concentration in economics), finance, public policy (with a concentration in economics), other social sciences (with quantitative training), mathematics, statistics, or computer science.
  • Experience working with big, geospatial, and/or environmental datasets.
  • Relevant experience as a research assistant.
  • Background in environment or sustainability issues.

Hiring Range

$18.50 - $24.75 Per Hour

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
