Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and Execute to the C-Suite Communications Plan and strategy (Write, update, maintain and manage as required)
  • Perform SharePoint Administration to disseminate content
  • Crisis communication experience with emphasis on developing crisis strategies, overseeing execution, and briefing leadership. (IT, Business, and/or Government experience preferred)
  • Manage and execute C-Suite communication channels including PowerPoints, briefings, whitepapers, emails, memos, templates, and verbal presentations, etc. (write, update as required)
  • Ensure cohesive communications branding across enterprise communication efforts also align with the business strategy, reflect business needs and goals. Recommend, develop, create, support, research, content as required
  • Recommend, develop and disseminate materials that increase visibility among internal and external stakeholders
  • Identify client target audiences and create communication strategies that align with the business strategy to engage them effectively
  • Work closely with C-Suite, Leadership, Program Managers, project teams, clients and other stakeholders to develop and draft messaging and strengthen presentations (PPT, Briefings, etc.)
  • Attend meetings with C-Suite, Leadership, project teams and other stakeholders to find creative communication solutions to complex problems
  • Analyze performance metrics of the effectiveness of mediums used to communicate
  • Develop, write and execute surveys for specific stakeholders, analyze results and recommend actions
  • Responsible for drafting and editing written Deliverables that meet client contract requirements; Provides quality assurance of all Deliverables
  • Engage with other internal teams (communications, quality, strategic) to gain required approval on content and accuracy
  • Complete projects by coordinating with all interested parties
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Work simultaneously on 5+ projects based on current client workload
  • Strong presentation design portfolio demonstrating expert level in PowerPoint including use of multiple masters, color themes, animations, actions, and video
  • Work special projects as required

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of related work experience, including at least 3 years of experience proofreading and editing all facets of corporate communications.
  • 5+ years of related Supervisory experience and have managed a communications team (3 people).
  • Utilize graphics programs and Microsoft Office SharePoint server technologies (nice to have).
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Experience with C-Suite executive level presentations and briefings.
  • Creativity and the ability to meet multiple deadlines is required.
  • Must be detail oriented with strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity in day to day operations.
  • Self-starter with the ability to take the initiative to ensure business goals are met and exceeded.
  • Position requires knowledge of corporate policies and procedures, as well as the ability to exercise good judgment to appropriately handle confidential issues.

Required Skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of PowerPoint, Word, and other content creation applications.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively lead, mentor, and manage a small communications team.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to actively listen and convey information clearly, succinctly, and professionally to groups or individuals, both verbally (in person or virtually) and in writing.
  • Proven experience in leadership and team management, including developing and executing internal marketing plans and strategies, and evaluating communications initiatives.
  • Ability to author comprehensive plans from start to finish, incorporating input from various stakeholders. This includes enterprise communication plans, rapid response plans, product line communication plans, brand plans, graphic standards, and content management plans for SharePoint.
  • Advanced writing and copy-editing skills, with a fundamental understanding of plain writing principles.
  • Exceptional project management skills, including planning, managing, and executing a range of communications or organizational projects (e.g., cross-service/department initiatives).
  • Eagerness and ability to quickly learn new web-based communication-related programs and apps.
  • Working knowledge of SharePoint administration for the purpose of disseminating communication content to a large audience.
  • Familiarity with communication tracking tools, such as GovDelivery.
  • Experience working in a public organizational setting (federal, state, county, township, etc.) either as an employee or client.
  • Strong skill in documenting and following processes (SOPs).
  • Strong knowledge of 508 standards, including running 508 checks and implementing fixes.

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Experience and knowledge of the VA Financial Services Center.
  • Graphic design skills, with advanced proficiency in PowerPoint, Adobe Suite, or similar graphic design tools.
  • Advanced knowledge management skills.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and ensuring communications are 508 compliant.
  • Experience in writing newsletters, brochures, pamphlets, one-page information sheets, and other related products.
  • Experience in speech writing.
  • Knowledge of change management principles.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Apps for creating custom business applications.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, English/Journalism, or related field (or equivalent).

Clearance:

  • The ability to pass a Moderate Background Investigation (MBI).

Pay Range:

  • The pay for this position ranges from $65,205 to $77,375.
  • The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
  • Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation, such as bonuses.
