The Director of Quality is responsible for overseeing and managing the company's quality program to maintain high standards across all projects. Key duties include conducting audits, maintaining quality documentation, and reporting findings to senior management and stakeholders. The role involves developing training programs, evaluating supplier and subcontractor performance, addressing quality issues, and ensuring compliance with building codes and regulations. As a Subject Matter Expert (SME), the director provides guidance on best practices and leads a team of quality professionals, fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
Position requires travel to projects around the Los Angeles area. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Quality Leadership: Develops, implements and manages the company's overall Quality program to ensure high standards are maintained across all projects. * Quality Audits: Conducts regular QC audits of project job sites, and issues formal QC Audit results/actions. * Documentation and Reporting: Ensures that the quality team's Quality documentation is maintained and up to date, including inspection reports, non-conformance reports, corrective action plans, and project quality plans. Provides regular reports to senior management on the status of Quality initiatives, non-compliance issues, and corrective actions. Presents findings to Owner's Representative as needed. * Training and Development: Leads the development and delivery of training programs for field and office teams to improve quality practices and awareness. Promotes a culture of continuous improvement. * Supplier and Subcontractor Management: Evaluates the quality performance of suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with contractual agreements and industry standards. * Problem Resolution: Identifies and addresses quality issues in a timely manner, working collaboratively with project teams to implement corrective actions and prevent recurrence. * Compliance: Stays up to date with construction regulations, standards, and best practices, ensuring the company complies with local, state, and federal building codes and safety regulations. Serves as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on industry-leading quality practices, providing guidance and expertise to uphold and enhance standards. * Team Leadership: Leads, mentors, and motivates a diverse team of Quality professionals, fostering a collaborative work environment, ensuring effective communication, and promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement across all levels of the organization. TECHNICAL SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED * Proficiency in quality management software and tools. REQUIRED EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE * Experience working on OSHPD projects preferred. BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES REQUIRED PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Performance of the required duties will require physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, passenger use of construction personnel hoists, ability to climb ladders and negotiate work areas under construction Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus Performing this job requires use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, sit, talk, hear, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works on-site at the construction work site where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud.
