The Department of Art at Utah Tech University in St. George, Utah, invites applicants for a full-time professional-track faculty position, starting Fall semester or August 2025. The Art department helps students take their artistic interests and refines them into lifelong passions, offering five emphases that help students thrive in a creative world. Responsibilities
-
- Teach 30 credits of courses in art, animation, film production, and film history each academic year.
- Perform defined campus-wide duties including holding office hours, attending department, college, and division faculty meetings, and adhering to University policy and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
-
- Master of Fine Arts degree in animation or a related field, or equivalent industry experience with animation, film production, and game engines in a production environment.
- Experience mentoring in the animation and film disciplines.
- Expertise in hand-drawn, digital, 2D animation with a strong portfolio.
- Experience with using and teaching game engines - Unreal, Unity, and/or Godot preferred.
- Ability to use software and other essential tasks.
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interactions with students, fellow art faculty, and the general public.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

POSITION DETAILS, COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:Full-time (9-month) one-year professional-track faculty position. Faculty service begins fall semester 2025. Annual salary of $54,000, with additional compensation available for optional summer/overload teaching.
