Job Details (clinical research experience is preferred)A Full-Time Nurse Navigator position is available in the Korman Respiratory Institute/ Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. This position has a 50/50 dual role: 1) nurse navigator for the Lung Cancer Screening Program, and 2) clinical research nurse for the Lung Cancer Screening and Lung Nodule Programs. All roles are in-person at the Jefferson TJUH campus in Center City Philadelphia. The Nurse Navigator performs basic nursing skills, patient navigation, and data management in the outpatient setting, with a focus on enhancing both the patient experience and the quality of interdisciplinary medical care provided by this Korman Respiratory Institute Program of Excellence. The Nurse Navigator will assist patients undergoing lung cancer screening through the comprehensive, centralized Lung Cancer Screening Program at Jefferson Health. A critical quality for success in this position is the ability to develop high-functioning interpersonal relationships with patients, physicians, and scheduling services for navigation of the Jefferson Health system. Assists with scheduling, shared decision-making, and education for patients undergoing lung cancer screening, supervised by a CRNP. Opportunity to obtain master tobacco treatment specialist (MTTS) certification. Training will be provided. Reviews test results and coordinates additional workup for patients, including follow-up scans, diagnostic procedures, and/or evaluation by additional subspecialists in Pulmonary Medicine or in the NCI-designated Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center. Records results and tracks patients who are due for follow-up in the Lung Cancer Screening Program using state-of-the-art radiology tracking software. Training will be provided. The Clinical Research Nurse will participate in carrying out clinical research focused on early detection of lung cancer, including multi-center clinical trials and other research studies. The Research Nurse will perform study coordination and data management, with a central focus on managing subject recruitment and enrollment, consistency of study implementation, data management and integrity, and compliance with regulatory requirements and reporting. Carries out the day-to-day activities of a clinical trial in accordance with Good Clinical Research Practice (GCP). Maintains accurate subject logs, collects and maintains documentation of all patient data, and performs regular quality control assessments to ensure that clinical trial data is collected and stored per GCP. Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the iSCORE values of Jefferson.
