Technical ESS PMO/Project Manager

Purpose:


  • Valkyrie Enterprises is actively seeking a talented and experienced technical project manager to oversee a wide variety of US Federal Government projects from conceptual design through implementation and sustainment.
  • This job is remote.


Job Description:


  • Manages project level cost, scope, schedule and quality for several US Federal Government contracts and customers (US Army, US Navy, USAF and DoS)
  • Leads teams in initiating, planning, controlling, executing, and closing projects or portions of projects to deliver effective solutions.
  • Manages customer relationships and advises project stakeholders throughout the project life cycle.
  • Develops detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports.
  • Conducts project meetings and be responsible for project tracking and analysis.
  • Analyzes new and complex project related problems and create innovative solutions involving finance, scheduling, technology, methodology, and ingenuity.
  • Executes a wide range of process activities beginning with the initial technical response to an order through development, test and final delivery.
  • Anticipates potential project related problems and use refined techniques for identifying, eliminating, or mitigating solution, project, and business risks.
  • Understands customer, industry, and business trends and apply this understanding to meet project objectives.
  • Ensures adherence to quality standards and reviews project deliverables.
  • Manages and conducts oversight of suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Provides technical and analytical guidance to project team.
  • Works with senior leadership and clients to identify business requirements and develop proposed solutions.
  • Participates extensively in proposal development and cost estimating.
  • Leads Proposal Responses and Business Development efforts related to ESS programs such as ESS VII.
  • Manages and review ESS TO's prior to and after RFP release.
  • Identifies Teaming Partners
  • Manages Partner Relationships


Qualifications:


  • Must have a bachelor's degree in management, business, or technical field related to engineering, construction or IT. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Must be capable of the following:

  • Must have at least 7 years of experience in managing projects, including at least 5 years of experience with technical projects.
  • Must have a strong knowledge and experience in business development and government contracting.
  • Must have a strong knowledge of critical communication infrastructure and electronic security systems installation and integration processes from design through execution.
  • Must have a strong knowledge and experience working with DoD electronic systems such as:

    • Access Control Systems
    • Intrusion Detection Systems
    • CCTV Systems
    • IT Networks
    • ISP/OSP


  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including MS Project, Word, Power Point and Excel.
  • Must have exceptional communication and project management skills.


Desired Qualifications:


  • A current Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is preferred.
  • Familiarity with accounting systems such as Costpoint is preferred.
  • Familiarity with DoD acquisition processes is preferred.
  • A technical certification is preferred, related to electronic security, information technology or critical infrastructure.
  • OSHA 30 Certification is preferred.
  • First Aid/ AED/ CPR within the past two years is preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience evaluating and writing proposals is preferred.
  • Active Passport is preferred.


Security Requirements:


  • Must have the eligibility to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.


Travel Requirements:


  • 25-75%
  • If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Physical Requirements:


  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods, moving about to accomplish tasks, or moving from one worksite to another.
  • Communicating with others to exchange information.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers, light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.
  • Must be able to reach, climb, stoop, kneel or crouch 20 to 30% of time.

Pay Range: $150 - $155,000 per year
