FT. Jackson's Floor Technician's primary responsibility is tomaintain and clean floors in all CDC'S building along with the SSI building.Specialized equipment and cleaning products are required for use to ensure floors are free from dirt, spots, and stains, and may also perform minor floor repairs.Responsibilities include sweeping, mopping, waxing, and buffing hard surfaces, as well as vacuuming or shampooing carpets.Ability to move furniture for cleaning purposes and following safety procedures are required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning and Maintaining Floors:Sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, buffing, and waxing floors of various materials.
  • Operating Cleaning Equipment:Using buffers, scrubbers, vacuums, and other specialized equipment.
  • Safety Compliance:Following safety procedures and guidelines, and handling chemicals responsibly.
  • Equipment Maintenance:Cleaning, maintaining, and storing cleaning equipment.
  • Furniture Movement:Moving furniture for cleaning access.
  • Documentation:Keeping records of cleaning and maintenance activities.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience:Some experience in janitorial work or floor maintenance is often preferred.
  • Physical Fitness:Able to stand for long periods, lift heavy equipment, and move around a workspace.
  • Knowledge of Cleaning Products and Equipment:Familiarity with various cleaning products, techniques, and equipment.
  • Attention to Detail:Meticulous in ensuring floors are clean and free from hazards.
  • Communication Skills:Able to communicate effectively with supervisors and other staff.
  • Safety Awareness:Understanding of safety procedures and guidelines.
