IMEG is growing, and we'd love to have you join our team! We are currently seeking a Project Land Surveyor in our Dallas, TX office. As a Project Land Surveyor, you will be responsible for providing production surveying duties, applying diversified knowledge of principles and practices in areas of land surveying related fields. You will be providing surveying assistance under leadership from a Senior Survey Coordinator or Senior Land Surveyor. The Project Land Surveyor will also be responsible for calculations and surveying judgment based on surveying experience, documented practices, systems, and examples which will be reviewed by a Senior Survey Coordinator or Senior Land Surveyor.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Schedule, oversee, and perform complex survey duties associated with construction
    stakeout and boundary, topographic, and as built surveys
    * Research and interpret historic maps, land records, previous surveys, and land titlereports
    * Schedule, oversee, and perform complete boundary reductions, boundary
    determinations, and mapping/topographic field reductions in CAD/survey software
    * Responsible to oversee, manage, maintain, and verify accuracy of project survey dataand the survey database to assure it adheres to all company and industry standards forquality control
    * Final review, quality checks, supervision, and signing of completed surveys and surveyplats
    * Advance the professional and productive working relationships with all clients andcoworkers
    * Prepare proposals, scopes of work, schedules, budgets, and be responsible to meetstaffing and financial performance metrics, including overall team results
    * Mentor and assist in training junior staff members
    * Operate a company vehicle
    * Observe safety and security procedure

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Advanced knowledge of land surveying operations, computations, principles andpractices.
  • * Expert proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering plans and constructiondocuments
  • Expert knowledge and ability to effectively deal with public, governmental agencies,staff, equipment and supplies
  • Proficient in on-site office operation, office workflow processes and problem-solvingtechniques
  • Expert understanding of survey operations and identification of potential problems
  • Proficient with AutoCAD C3D, survey, GPS, MS Office, financial and productionsoftwar
  • Advanced problem-solving techniques
  • Proven effective people management and leadership capabilities of individuals and anoverall team environment
  • Possesses oral and written communication skill
  • Ability to effectively communicate with clients, officials, contractors, coworkers andprofessionally represent IME
  • Valid driver's license with ability to be insured by IMEG carrier; must consent to a MotorVehicle Record (MVR) background chec
  • Proficient in Microsoft and MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, andOutlook
  • Ability to travel with occasional overnight stay

Education and experience:

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) or Associate Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalentrequired
    * 18 years of experience minimum required, 22 preferred, in the building designconsulting or construction industry preferred
    * Land Surveyor (LS) License required
