Scope of Position The Director of the Healthy Community Center, will establish foundational relationships with franchise owners, set operational standards, and devise growth strategies to lay the groundwork for brand establishment and expansion. Spearheading collaborative efforts with community stakeholders, they will design and implement impactful programs aimed at enhancing community health and well-being. Integrating clinical, research, and educational activities, they will cultivate community engagement and foster enduring partnerships, while establishing organizational protocols and procedures. Additionally, the Director will manage the retail operations of the Healthy Cafe enterprise attached to the building, overseeing lease management, creating RFPs for vendors, budget management, and ensuring compliance with sanitation plans and procedures. They will actively build community relationships and partnerships with organizations such as Partners Achieving Community Transformation (PACT), Columbus City Schools, Local Matters, Mid-Ohio Food Collective, and social service organizations. Furthermore, the Director will work closely with internal departments such as College of Medicine - IM Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism, CICIP Board, Ambulatory Services - OSUWMC Total Health and Wellness, and The James - Clinical Nutrition Services, fostering collaboration and synergy across the organization. Specifically, the HCC Director and the Ambulatory leadership which oversees our programs at other community centers across Central Ohio that OSUWMC partners with (e.g., Upper Arlington, Hilliard, New Albany) will collaborate together to share best practices and improve alignment of health promotion, educational, and other community-based programs/projects when appropriate. The HCC Director will have oversight for creating and adhering to budgets for assigned cost centers, recommending solutions to ensure fiscal sustainability. Crafting a comprehensive strategy for directory services, you'll drive operational initiatives and collaborate closely with senior leadership, university partners, and community stakeholders to codify shared practices for meaningful community engagement. Cultivating a high-performing team, you'll provide mentorship and instill a culture of innovation and excellence within the organization. Position Summary As the Director of the Healthy Community Center, they will lead initiatives to optimize facility performance and drive growth. The Director will oversee operations, managing retail outlets, meeting spaces, and facility maintenance, ensuring seamless operations. Building partnerships with organizations like Partners Achieving Community Transformation, they will expand community engagement and drive facility utilization. Leveraging expertise in operations, the Director will drive growth through strategic planning, budget management, and team leadership, fostering business expansion. Collaborating with OSU Advancement, they will lead fundraising efforts, enhancing revenue streams. Additionally, they will coordinate programming initiatives to promote community health and well-being. The Director will position the Healthy Community Center as a leader in operational excellence and community health advocacy. Minimum Qualifications For Hire: Masters or Professional Degree preferred. Bachelors degree required, preferably in communications, business, or health care related area. Minimum of 10 years professional experience, preferably in operations, nonprofit management, public/community health, public administration, and/or program development. Preference will be given to candidates with a working knowledge in community and civic engagement, fundraising, community organizing, facility management, strategic planning and tracking performance measurements to achieve organizational goals. Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational and facilitation skills. Demonstrated skills in digital technology, demonstrated ability to initiate and complete projects. Ability to learn new systems software. The Director will need to be independent, energetic, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines and projects. |
