Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30 am - 4 pm

Full-Time position is eligible for Medical, Dental, Vision, Short Term Disability, Life/Accidental Death and Dismemberment, Flexible Spending Accounts, Long Term Disability, and several voluntary supplemental benefit offerings. JOB SUMMARY:

The Manager II, Goodwheels oversees all aspects of our leading Goodwheels Non-Emergent Transportation (NEMT) Program, a leading community transportation social enterprise.

This role oversees a team of 20+ dedicated drivers and dispatchers who deliver exceptional door-to-door service across El Paso, Teller, and Pueblo Counties. Serving primarily Medicaid clients, with a smaller portion of private pay clients, our team goes the extra mile to ensure clients arrive safely at their destinations. With a fleet of over 20 vehicles, our compassionate, customer-focused staff specializes in transporting both ambulatory clients and those who use wheelchairs, creating an inclusive and dignified experience for every rider.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Transportation Program Operations and Management:



  • The Transportation Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating timely, efficient client pick-ups and drop-offs. The incumbent ensures the Goodwheels team upholds a clean, professional appearance and communicates respectfully with clients. The manager is required to attend all local and state transportation meetings to relay updates and regulatory changes. They maintain safe, clean vehicles and work environments, conducting regular inspections to ensure vehicles are clean, well-maintained, and ready for daily use. The manager enforces compliance with all safety protocols and Federal, State, and local regulations and laws, ensuring timely maintenance, accurate documentation, and prompt reporting of repairs and incidents in line with company policy.


Budgeting:



  • The Manager is responsible for delivering high performance while adhering to budget and quality standards. This role supports budget development and ensures operations remain within financial limits. Additionally, the Manager must verify Medicaid client eligibility and required medical documentation before billing for trips.


Overall Support and Quality Focus:



  • The Transportation Manager is responsible for maintaining accurate client records and staff files while upholding high standards of efficiency and effectiveness. They are expected to fulfill these responsibilities with minimal oversight. The manager will proactively address all customer feedback, including complaints or suggestions, to help strengthen Goodwill of Colorado's culture.


Staff Development:



  • The Manager is responsible for all personnel matters related to the Goodwheels team, including interviewing, hiring, performance evaluations, and terminations. The incumbent provides direct supervision, supports staff training and development, and offers clear work direction and guidance. The Manager is expected to deliver timely feedback on task quality and conduct evaluations, recognition, and counseling as needed to support team performance and growth.


Relationship Management:



  • The Transportation Manager is responsible for fostering positive, professional relationships with customers, vendors, clients, and colleagues, consistently representing Goodwill of Colorado with courtesy and professionalism. This role requires the ability to handle non-routine situations calmly and effectively, following established guidelines. The manager also serves as a collaborative team leader, promoting clear and effective communication across all levels of the organization.


Business Development:



  • The Program Manager is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building relationships with prospective clients, and expanding revenue in both new and existing markets. They also oversee all marketing, advertising, and promotional materials to ensure accurate representation of Goodwheels and Goodwill of Colorado.


Leadership and Support:



  • As a member of the Community Impact Division, the Program Manager is expected to actively promote Goodwill's mission, vision, strategic goals, and values. This includes leveraging opportunities to communicate the division's quality standards to vendors, employees, and applicants. The Manager sets and upholds high standards for professional conduct and appearance, modeling these expectations for others. As a team leader, they foster a collaborative work environment and ensure alignment with organizational policies. The Manager also keeps their Director informed of key developments and maintains confidentiality in all sensitive matters, while performing additional duties as assigned.



QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:



  • A High school diploma or equivalent is required.


Experience:



  • A minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of experience providing positive supervision of staff and coordination of transportation of people is required.
  • This individual must be willing to be certified in CPR and First Aid and to maintain the certification.


Other:



  • Experience in working with persons with disabilities is preferred.
  • The individual must demonstrate leadership, management, and administrative skills.
  • Must have a high degree of maturity, conduct self with diplomacy, must demonstrate good judgment, responsibility and initiative.
  • The individual should possess effective interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to manage people, work cooperatively, to organize work, and make good decisions.
  • The Transportation Manager must be able to manage people and deal with conflict effectively and constructively.
  • The individual must conduct themself in a professional manner, maintain a professional appearance that enhances the firm's reputation, and be a positive role model. In addition to the competencies listed below, the individual must have the ability to demonstrate a high level of energy, innovation and be an inspiration to others.
  • The incumbent will be required and must have the ability to drive for company business*.



*Per auto vehicle insurance carrier requirements: For applicants/employees to qualify for inclusion on the Goodwill driver insurance schedule, for purpose of driving Goodwill fleet vehicles, or for purpose of receiving company mileage reimbursement they must be at least:



  • 19 years of age (not engaged in passenger transportation),
  • 25 - 70 years of age for all passenger transportation services,
  • 21 years of age for CDL.


Applicants/employee will be required to undergo a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check and background check; applicants/employees must disclose all moving traffic violations or vehicle crashes (within the last five (5) years)(Note: not all violations are a disqualification for employment and each case will be reviewed by the insurance carrier); must have valid Colorado State driver license; must also be able to operate company vehicle, and adhere to all Federal, State, and local laws governing vehicle operation.
