About the Job

Position Overview
The University of Minnesota's (UMN) IGDI Lab (IGDI-Lab) seeks a candidate to fill one 12.5% effort Post-Doctoral Associate position. Work in the IGDI-Lab will include supporting scale formation for the IGDI-Lab measures, including defining calibration tables per form (Raw to Rasch tables) and developing meaningful scaled score formulas and metrics. The post-doctoral associate will support multiple aspects of this work, including conceptualization and design of the scale scores, computing Rasch tables using time calibrations, and documenting and manualizing the algorithms and related products.

The post-doctoral associate will be part time, 12-month employee of the University of Minnesota. The post-doctoral associate will work closely with and be primarily supervised by Dr. Alisha Wackerle-Hollman in the Department of Educational Psychology. The appointment will be for 12 months through June 2026.

The post-doctoral associate should be committed to applying novel strategies and producing original research and publishing their work and other outlets (as appropriate with team members Dr. Wackerle-Hollman is committed to the professional development of the post-doctoral associate and will provide resources to support professional development, including connection with other mentors to address specific areas identified for professional growth, relevant to the project work scope.

This position is based on campus. Per UMN policy, work may be done remotely when appropriate and approved by your manager. All UMN employees are expected to follow applicable public health and safety procedures.

Job Responsibilities

Research (100%)

  • Work closely with other research team/lab members to support the implementation of various projects, including (but not limited to) scaling, algorithm development, scaled score development and documentation.
  • Support the creation, management, and retention of large-scale data sets.
  • Lead and/or assist with the preparation of research articles, reports, and grants.
  • Disseminate research findings/
Qualifications

Required Qualifications
The successful applicant must have:

  • Ph.D. in educational psychology, special education, or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience conducting large-scale school-based research.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Strong professional writing skills, including research reports, peer-reviewed research articles, or other print and electronic publications
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with people from a variety of communities, backgrounds, and identities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in collaborating as a member of a larger research team
  • Experience with reading and/or language comprehension development, assessment, and/or instruction or intervention

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: The salary for this position is $7,626. Final salary offers are dependent on the candidate's experience, skills, and internal equity within the department.

Time Appointment: 12.5%
