About the Job

The Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities is looking to hire a lecturer to co-teach one 4-credit course in areas such as systems engineering or project management in the Fall 2025 semester. Undergraduate and/or graduate students will be enrolled in this course. This will be a single-semester part-time appointment with the possibility of renewal depending on performance, availability of funds, and departmental instructional needs.

Position Overview and Responsibilities:

Duties for this position will include

-Prepare and deliver lectures (20%)

-Prepare homework assignments, quizzes and exams (20%)

-Hold office hours (15%)

-Assess student work (20%)

-Supervise teaching assistants or graders if any are assigned to the course (15%)

-Manage the administration of the course (10%)

Qualifications

Required:

A PhD degree in science or engineering and at least 5 years of experience working in industry in areas related to assigned instructional responsibilities is required.

Preferred:

Prior experience with training or leading teams of students, engineers, and/or scientists is preferred.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $2000 - $2500 per course credit; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
