About the Job

Duties/Responsibilities:

This position will support the Neurology Department faculty, staff and trainees at the University of Minnesota. Work will performed within a team of administrative staff with some routine tasks being done independently, while more complicated tasks will have direct oversight. Tasks will support the clinical, education, research and administrative missions of the department during regular business hours (8 AM - 4:30 PM), totaling to 20 hours a week.

Responsibilities - Department Operations Support (100%):
* Maintaining office equipment, common spaces and office spaces such as stocking supplies, removing recycling and trash, etc.
* Collecting and sorting mail for department offices located in PWB, Moos Tower and 717 Delaware Street buildings.
* Receiving and sign for deliveries.
* Copy, scan and fax documents including forwarding clinical information to clinics.
* Scan documents to be digitally stored on the server
* Clean out office space and set up new furniture and computer work stations
* Organize research files for long-term storage
* Set up special events such as graduation, etc.
* Sorting and filing pathology slides
* Communicate with administrative team, faculty and staff using in-person, fax, phone and email communications.
* Serve as initial point of contact for Neurology Department.

Qualifications

Bargaining unit consideration begins on June 17, 2025 and ends on June 24, 2025.

All required qualifications must be included in the application materials

Required Qualifications:
* High School Diploma/GED and one year general office/clerical experience. Training or education may substitute for some of the experience.
* Requires knowledge and/or demonstrated ability needed to perform general office tasks such as filing, faxing, completing forms, emails and answering telephones.

Preferred Qualifications:
* Previous experience working for a medical school.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $21.63/hr - $22.48/hr depending on education/qualifications/experience.

Time Appointment Category: 50%
