Position Summary
The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is seeking a full-time physician for a tenure-track/tenured, fixed-term, or variable track position at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor for the Transfusion Medicine Service. Our Transfusion Medicine Service encompasses donor collections, therapeutic apheresis, hematopoietic progenitor cell collection and processing, blood component processing, and compatibility testing. Applicants with secondary interests in some other area of the pathology lab, such as surgical pathology, hematopathology, or clinical pathology, are welcome to apply.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Candidates must hold a MD/DO degree, be BC/BE in Transfusion Medicine, and must have or be eligible for a North Carolina medical license.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Applicants should be committed to excellence in clinical services, teaching and research in a field relevant to transfusion medicine. Expertise in clinical coagulation is a particular need.
