Job Highlights

The Plant Engineer III is responsible for increasing profitability and competitiveness of LANXESS production processes through optimized technical solutions. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Day-to-day support and troubleshooting of a PSM regulated chemical facility, solutions may require development of new or improved products, processes, or techniques.
  • Responsible for plant engineering duties within assigned area.
  • Works with independence, conferring with manager on unusual or complex assignments.
  • Responsible for implementing good process safety practices in assigned area.
  • Participates in Process Hazard Analysis sessions
  • Responsible for projects to ensure environmental compliance in assigned area.
  • Direct process engineering activities/projects of the group.
  • Prepare presentations/lead audits/analyze data as needed.
  • Assesses feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering tests, products, and equipment.
  • Executes and leads performance improvement activities which may employ various process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, BPI, KAM, etc.).
  • Develops key performance indicators (KPIs) and dashboards based on strategic objectives and performance improvement goals.
  • Effectively manages mid-sized projects to ensure project completion on-time, on-budget, and on-quality; resolves issues and conflicts; coordinates project work with other operating units; regularly reports project status.
Requirements
  • BS in Chemical Engineering. Advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in chemical manufacturing or related environment.
  • Advanced PSM knowledge.
  • Previous project management experience is a must.
  • Proficiency with process simulation software (Aspen) is preferred.
