SUMMARY/OBJECTIVES

The purpose of the Model Risk Management Intern is to support Model Risk Management key governance functions for Model and End User Computing tool inventories.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Develop a working knowledge of the Bank's organizational structure, operations, product and service offering, and model governance in accordance with SR 11-7.

  • Work with business lines to identify and solve model integrity and quality issues, develop or enhance processes through integration of model governance best practices, and inventory existing models or end user computing tools.

  • Assist with the creation of model documentation and performance monitoring plans.

  • Collaborate with tool owners to create documentation and user guides for tool usage.

  • Assist with conducting critical spreadsheet testing and facilitate remediation efforts once performed.

  • Support governance inventory tools (i.e., Archer and CIMCON) that enable various program elements such as documentation, validation, ongoing monitoring, change management, certifications, issue remediation processes, and dashboards.

  • Assist business lines with corrective action plans, where needed or appropriate, for Model Risk Management related issues logged in Archer.

  • Manage governance projects in accordance with the Bank's established project lifecycle process to include but not limited to developing and executing project plans, roadmaps, schedules, business requirements, and testing strategies.

  • Prepare reports, materials, and status updates for governance initiatives.

  • Advanced working knowledge in MS Office-specifically strong in MS Excel and MS Word.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Four-year degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or a related field, or related experience in lieu of formal education.

  • Experience in relevant banking, finance, project, or leadership roles.

  • Banking experience and knowledge of industry regulatory requirements is preferred.

  • Risk Management, Finance, Credit, Information Security, Information Technology, and/or Banking Operations experience is a plus.

  • Experience in using Python, R, VBA, Access, SAS, or SQL is a plus.

  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with cross functional teams and ability to develop, recommend, and implement solutions.

  • Project management experience including developing and executing project plans and roadmaps.

In accordance with Colorado law: Colorado pay for this position is anticipated to be between $31,943.00 - $47,915.00 , actual offers to be determined based on applicant's skills, experience and education.
