Job Title: General Foreman - Cable Department

Location: Pascagoula, Mississippi

General Function

The General Foreman for the Cable Department oversees multiple phases of cable production to ensure adherence to project schedules and budgets. This role supervises Foremen and/or Lead Worker Supervisors and reports to the Superintendent. The position plays a critical role in managing operational execution, workforce deployment, quality assurance, and safety within the department.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

* Advise foremen on effective supervision of lead workers and production employees.

* Promote and maintain safe working conditions; assist in the facilitation of safety meetings.

* Review project specifications and engineering drawings; contribute to project build strategies and scheduling.

* Inspect workstations to confirm resource availability and optimal workforce efficiency; ensure performance indicators are met.

* Coordinate with foremen on workforce deployment to maximize productivity.

* Evaluate employee performance and provide or recommend training to improve skillsets and operational output.

* Monitor departmental budget and scheduling performance; provide feedback and input on cost controls and efficiency.

* Ensure quality standards are met through adherence to engineering drawings, internal procedures, and performance objectives.

* Collaborate with the Superintendent and Quality Control Manager to ensure compliance with company standards and contractual specifications.

Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

* In-depth knowledge of cable production or related trade (e.g., electrical systems).

* Strong understanding of maritime industry practices and company operational procedures.

* Ability to read, interpret, and implement project contracts, schedules, engineering drawings, and work plans.

* Skilled in departmental budget management and production scheduling.

* Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on timely execution of assignments.

* Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite preferred.

Experience and Training Requirements

* High school diploma or GED required.

* Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience in a production setting required.

* Five (5) years of production supervision experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications preferred.
