Salary range:

Application Window Open date: June 9, 2025 Next review date: Wednesday, Jun 25, 2025 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Sunday, Sep 7, 2025 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description Position: Assistant Specialist The Assistant Specialist works in the Intelligent Medical Imaging Research lab to help with managing research studies and activities, including subject enrollment, scheduling, coordinating and conducting research procedures, collecting data, database management, quality assurance, data annotation, computer system and software management, study protocol design and support, executing and testing computer programs and pipelines for medical imaging and image processing, designing software pipelines, building dockers and containers for software, and in supporting research personnel in data analysis and interpretation, in preparing reports, publications, and presentations. The lab's focus is on motion-robust magnetic resonance imaging using pulse sequence design, image reconstruction, image registration, segmentation and enhancement using deep learning, and real-time image processing, for brain, body, and fetal applications. Preferred Qualifications: The University of California, Irvine, Medical Center is located in Orange, California and is the only level I trauma center in the region. The hospital is an NCI-designated cancer center with multidisciplinary research opportunities available. The department performs over 220,000 examinations per year and has 30 full-time and part-time faculty. All imaging equipment is state of the art. The department has active multidisciplinary collaborations with other services. The section provides CT, MRI, ultrasound, and fluoroscopy/radiography imaging services; invasive procedures are performed separately by the interventional radiology section. The UC Irvine Medical Center is a 450-bed acute care and tertiary referral facility.
