Responsible for the daily operations both short term and long term maintenance of over 300 various sizes transformers from the Generation side 345KV to transmission and distribution.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensuring work is completed in a timely and safety focused manner.
  • Adjusts daily planning for outages both planned and forced.
  • Assists in the overall Substation network team mission
  • Stay ahead of or meet the sub/net O&M and Capital targets.
  • Work with the asset management team to make adjustments' as required during the year.
  • Control work cost by combing skill sets and worker knowledge to accomplish the jobs in the most safety and cost effective manner.
  • Continued to meet operational KPIs.
  • Works with Asset management team and with Sub/Net and Asset Management to identify and prioritize transformer related maintenance/reliability issues -- working throughout the year to coordinate resources to mitigate those issues.
  • Manage the Sub/Net Transformer Group/Equipment on daily basis to ensure reliable operation of the IPL transformer fleet.
  • Develop both long term and short range attainable planning goals
  • Develop accountability and team building of the oil processing rig and processes.
  • Continue to develop cross training among oil sampling processes. Ensured the safe planning, operation and executing of all Sub/Net transformer maintenance activities.
  • Worked with engineering and the Sub/Net group of all contractor safety related work.
  • Develop the desire to succeed in others with safe work practices and holding people accountable.
  • Continues to work with the Sub/Net trainer to develop and support the apprenticeship training agenda.
  • Continue to work with the other team leaders and management to develop and strive for excellence in overall safety programs.

Requirements:

  • High School equivalent or GED
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in transformer maintenance
  • 5 years experience in substation operations
  • previous leadership experience a preferred
