Job Summary This strategic consultant is responsible for supporting leadership by delivering projects related to Pharmacy strategy development, planning, and implementation to help drive growth, improve the affordability of our products and services, and react to shifting competitive trends and external forces in the Pharmacy space.
This individual is an emerging expert skilled at analyzing various data sources (competitive intelligence, internal financials, secondary research, etc.), synthesizing data in a clear and actionable way, and driving projects through to impact.
  • Strategic/planning/implementation projects that assist senior Enterprise Pharmacy and HCSC leadership priorities - example projects could include: evolving the economic model in different Pharmacy lines of business, in response to competitive trends and other external actions; Medical Drug strategy across fee schedules, preferred drugs, rebates, site of care; strategy to support improvement of Pharmacy Stars metrics; identifying process and operating model improvements across Enterprise Pharmacy, etc.
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis and synthesize information, generating insights and strategic implications (internal, market, competitor, etc.).
  • Frame strategic options and develop recommendations on path forward, grounded in strategic analysis.
  • Collaborate with identifying initiatives, developing roadmaps, and creating and refining business cases.
  • Monitor implementation, assess progress, and escalate issues with a perspective on where help is needed from leadership.
  • Support development / coordination of presentations, communications, planning materials and other strategy-related documents
  • Maintain and grow a set of cross-functional relationships, particularly at the leadership level, to achieve goals and desired outcomes.
  • Work with leadership to ensure alignment among Enterprise Pharmacy, corporate, and cross-functional priorities.

Required Job Qualifications:

  • 3 years strategic consulting experience at a top tier consulting firm or Bachelor degree / Master's Degree / MBA and 7 years of relevant strategic experience.
  • Strategy Development/Planning/Implementation: Knowledge of corporate strategy and/or transformation core skill sets; experience formulating, planning, and/or implementing strategy and transformative efforts.
  • Analysis/Synthesis/Insight Generation: Ability to conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis, provide insights and implications, inform decision making, and make recommendations/prioritize new opportunities to pursue.
  • Critical Thinking/Problem Solving: Ability to proactively identify and resolve complex problems with some oversight.
  • Project Management: Experience managing complex projects with some oversight.
  • Collaboration and Interpersonal Effectiveness: Ability to build strong connections with people and teams, drive results by working across the matrixed environment, and work directly with leadership with some oversight.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively through verbal, written and visual channels.
  • Ability to work within a very fast-paced, quickly evolving organization and manage multiple, complex priorities.

Preferred Job Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree such as MBA, MHA, MD, JD, or PhD.
  • Experience in the healthcare industry, especially in the pharmacy value chain.
  • Experience with corporate strategy, growth strategy, product strategy, or business case development.

Reports into the office 3 days per week.

The compensation offered will vary depending on your job-related skills, education, knowledge, and experience. This role aligns with an annual incentive bonus plansubject to the terms and the conditions of the plan.
