Description

Vedder Price's Chicago office is seeking a Professional Development Assistant. The Professional Development Assistant will work with the Professional Development team to support the implementation of firmwide professional development programs and initiatives, including continuing legal education (CLE) programing and compliance.

As a Professional Development Assistant, your duties will include but not be limited to:



  • Accurate and timely administration and maintenance of internal and client training programs into the learning management system and, as needed, state bar databases.
  • Oversee logistics for internal training programs including scheduling conference rooms; tracking RSVPs; liaising with all offices and support departments regarding training program arrangements and materials.
  • Update and maintain attorneys' profiles, license information, and CLE records in CE Manager
  • Maintain and create Professional Development documents, reports, and spreadsheets.
  • Upload and coordinate training recordings to the learning management system, including tracking completion.
  • Communicate with Vedder Price attorneys (verbally and electronically) regarding their CLE requirements/credits and enter external CLE certificates into CE Manager
  • Cross-train with the other member of the team to assure adequate backup for all areas.
  • Conduct special projects as required.


Skills & Competencies:



  • Must have excellent oral/written communication and listening skills and have the ability to communicate across all levels inside and outside the firm; excellent customer service and diplomacy skills required.
  • Strong research skills.
  • Keen attention to detail/strict deadlines and ability to follow directions.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, with ability to effectively and efficiently manage and prioritize multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.


Qualifications & Required Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Familiarity with CE Manager a plus.
  • Professional demeanor and discretion required.


Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient in the following areas strong computer skills, including proficiency with the Internet, a learning management platform, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Compensation Range: $50,000/yr. to $55,000/yr.
