Job Description

The Director, Well-Being Services is a mission-driven leader responsible for advancing the well-being of healthcare professionals within our academic health system. Reporting to the Chief Wellness Officer, this role plays a pivotal part in implementing and managing a comprehensive, system-wide well-being strategy that supports the mental, emotional, and professional health of faculty, learners, researchers, and healthcare workers across MU Health Care and the MU School of Medicine.

Key Responsibilities:
* Serve as a strategic and operational leader in designing and delivering internal well-being services including consultations, individual therapy, crisis response, education, and group facilitation
* Act as a key advisor and delegate for the Chief Wellness Officer, representing the Office of Well-Being across the academic health system
* Lead and support the execution of initiatives that reduce burnout and increase emotional recharge across multidisciplinary teams (Physicians, APPs, Nurses, GME Residents/Fellows, Pharmacists, Researchers, and staff)
* Coordinate evidence-based mental health services, including short-term therapy, community referrals, and critical incident support
* Maintain HIPAA-compliant documentation and ensure all mental health practices meet Missouri statutory and regulatory standards
* Build and maintain a robust referral network with community mental health professionals
* Represent the University at local, state, and national conferences as a well-being science expert
* Partner with departments to interpret well-being survey data and implement targeted interventions
* Supervise and support licensed clinical staff within the Office of Well-Being
* Ensure legal and regulatory compliance in collaboration with General Counsel and Compliance
* Support communication and marketing strategies to increase program engagement
* Contribute to academic and applied research efforts on healthcare well-being, as capacity allows

Monday through Friday 8am - 5pm

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in psychology or a related field. Seven (7) or more years of experience in psychology.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: 110,000 - 175,000 annually
Grade: HMP A
