Responsibilities:
- Ensure product conformity to customer requirements and internal specifications.
- Work within a multi-regulated environment, ISO 90001, ASME Section Vlll Div1, CRN, CE, ATEX, 3-A, NACE, etc.
- Lead quality department activities on new product development efforts, Design for Quality (DFQ) , APQP, and inspection methodologies.
- Assist Manufacturing Engineers in developing robust processes and identify areas for improvement with process data.
- Implement methods and procedures for inspection, testing, and evaluation of incoming and manufactured products.
- Knowledgeably program and operate a variety of metrology equipment. Zeiss CMM, Metrios Cross OMM, optical comparator, profilometer, and other handheld or benchtop equipment.
- Maintain the gage management system.
- Assist with inspections: Incoming material, in-process, 1st piece/full layout.
- Participate in supplier evaluation, qualification, and development.
- Determine supplier PPAP requirements, and review supplier PPAP submissions.
- Effectively use Supplier Corrective Actions to resolve supplier quality problems and improve supplier performance.
- Perform internal and supplier audits.
- Investigate and respond to internal and customer Corrective Actions utilizing proven problem-solving methods such as 8d, 5-Why, etc.
- Support company wide and departmental continual improvement efforts.
- Support the company training program and conduct special training sessions.
Qualifications:
- BS degree preferred, with courses in engineering, applied sciences, mechanical/electrical design. Progressively responsible related experience may substitute.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Certification preferred
- ASQ Quality Engineer Certification perferred
- 5+ years' experience with Quality Control in a custom-manufacturing environment.
- Experience programming and operating Zeiss CMM (Calypso) preferred
- Knowledgeable in welding, machining, and assembly procedures.
