THE OPPORTUNITY: The Inland Empire Utilities Agency (IEUA/Agency) is seeking a proactive, detail-oriented, and dependable professional to serve as its next Administrative Assistant II (Confidential). This key position plays an essential role in supporting the day-to-day functions of the Board and Administrative Services Department and providing direct administrative support to the Human Resources team. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, confidential environment. With a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and exceptional customer service, this role is instrumental in helping the department run smoothly and effectively. EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:
Graduation from high school or GED equivalent, and at least seven years of progressively responsible experience in administrative, financial and/or technical support functions; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Experience in a public agency is preferred. Completion of college-level course work is highly desirable and may be substituted for up to two years of the required experience on a year-for-year basis. Confidential Designation: An Administrative Assistant II with a confidential designation distinguishes incumbents who whose duties normally require regular access to sensitive, complex, and confidential information, personnel issues, and information pertaining to collective bargaining strategy. Employees with a confidential designation typically work in the Human Resources Department and report to the Manager of Human Resources.
Skills and Abilities
- Organize, set priorities and exercise sound independent judgment within areas of responsibility.
- Compose clear, concise and comprehensive analyses, correspondence, reports, studies, agreements, presentations and other written materials from brief instructions.
- Analyze problems, evaluate alternatives and recommend effective courses of action.
- Operate a computer, standard business software and a variety of computer software programs and databases related to area of assignment.
This position is Non-Exempt - eligible for overtime compensation.

The Inland Empire Utilities Agency is a regional wastewater treatment agency and wholesale distributor of imported water to approximately 935,000 people across 242-square miles in western San Bernardino County.
