The Materials Inventory Analyst assumes a pivotal role in presenting data-driven strategies and actions aimed at optimizing inventory efficiency, accuracy, and value for the platforms various Materials Organization. Acting as a liaison between business stakeholders and Materials support units, they facilitate alignment on process development and improvements. They also embrace emerging trends like BI and AI integration as well as best practices and methodologies to remain impactful within the evolving Materials realm.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Lead continuous reviews of business processes to identify gaps and develop optimization strategies for improving material and inventory accuracies.
  • Maintain, decipher and provide accurate inventory and transaction reports, including receiving, consumption/issuance, cycle count and adjustment, inventory levels, and performance metrics.
  • Communicate insights, plans and conditions effectively to cross-functional team members and management, including at Tier meetings.
  • Design and implement KPIs to measure performance as it relates to Material Department functions, duties and expectations
  • Document business requirements, process flows, use cases, and user experiences and challenges in detail.
  • Ensure proposed solutions meet business needs and requirements.
  • Analyze demand patterns and usage history to determine optimal inventory positions to ensure adequate inventory availability. Identify potential bottlenecks or inventory constraints.
  • Collaborate with Planning, Production, and Purchasing teams to support business needs and priorities.
  • Propose innovative and practical solutions to address business challenges and lead new process development across the Materials org.
  • Ensure proposed solutions align with the organization's strategic goals and technological capabilities.
  • Participate in production meetings and cross-functional teams to coordinate activities, resolve issues, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and technology advancements related to production planning and scheduling.
  • Review material variances in support of inventory accuracy and advanced root cause analysis.
  • Take ownership of excess and obsolete inventory review and disposition.
  • Support technology integration and troubleshooting across Materials organization.
  • Serve as point of contact for Inventory and process audits

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

Bachelor's degree in business, operations management, supply chain management, a related field or combination of experience and education required. 5+ years of experience in Materials Management and Inventory Analysts in a production environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Proficiency in enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, optical communication technologies, and Microsoft Office applications. Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is a plus. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
