WHAT YOU WILL DO:

As the Production Planner, responsibilities will include but may not be limited to:



  • Optimize order inceptions to ensure punctual delivery goals, provide precise and well-timed order status information to meet operational needs and exceed customer needs.
  • Oversee planning/scheduling process from documentation preparation to work orders, job scheduling and beyond.
  • Assist with schedule development and implementation on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis and update departments on a regular basis.
  • Define and communicate cross-functional action plans across multiple departments to meet production and delivery commitments.
  • Customer order status management- provide details to support customer open order status reporting to weekly schedule.
  • Managing schedule for changes due to replacement, expedite requests, and material shortages.
  • Ability to provide a rolling analysis (12 week minimum) forecast and future look of open backlog to assist management with understanding the demand requirements.
  • Inventory management and cycle count accuracy- provide needed plant level support to operations, and accounting to maintain accurate valuation.
  • Capacity management and staffing recommendations - provide information to operations management and HR to identify potential conflict in meeting order commitment dates due to headcount.
  • Maintain, implement, and improve 5-S Principles.


ABOUT YOU:



  • 5+ years of experience in a Master Scheduling position within a manufacturing environment required.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, Bachelor' Degree preferred.
  • Working knowledge of master scheduling and production planning process.
  • Ability to create a comprehensive plan and effectively communicate plan requirements to cross functional organization.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word & Outlook experience.
  • Previous experience with production software, PLEX ERP preferred.
  • Proficient understanding of lean manufacturing best practices.
  • Problem solver who anticipates situations like high demand, shortfalls and bottlenecks.
  • Team player who can handle working under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Solid interpersonal communication skills and a desire to lead and work with others.
  • Must be able to check parts for conformance to specifications.
  • Be a team player who can perform in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency.
