The Strategic Communications and Marketing department at West Virginia University is currently accepting applications for a Marketing Specialist for University Apartments.

About the Opportunity

Under the supervision of the Senior Director of Marketing, this individual will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring marketing and social media to promote leasing and community-building at University Apartments. This position will be essential to the success of the public-private partnerships with College Park, University Park, University Place and Vandalia Apartments. Following our Strategic Communications and Marketing guidelines, the position is responsible for managing the development of printed materials, websites, social media, advertisements, online marketing, event promotion, and any other programs that help promote a positive image for University Apartments.

What you'll do:



  • Participates in the development of strategic marketing and communications plans to support University Apartments' goals and objectives.
  • Handles day-to-day development and management of communications and marketing plans, as assigned by the Marketing Director.
  • Helps foster and build excellent partnerships with on- and off-campus organizations, including public-private developers.
  • Creates and develops marketing collateral including written copy, photos, video, graphic design, etc.
  • Ensures brand consistency across all marketing activities (i.e. website, email, social media, events, flyers, etc.) when executing communications and marketing plans.
  • Conducts post-campaign analysis for all projects and campaigns; develops reports and best practices based on insights.
  • Executes events, as needed, to achieve marketing and community-building goals for University Apartments which include residential events, Housing Fairs, and Open Houses.
  • Meets at least monthly with managers for marketing project intake and review; assists and assesses events.
  • Helps to hire, supervise and prioritize projects for marketing student staff, interns, and temporary staff for University Apartments.
  • Assists with personal and group tours of the four communities, as needed.
  • Visits the regional campuses to promote University Apartments with transfer students.
  • Presents at assigned functions to promote the positive image of University Apartments. Some examples include classroom presentations, New Student Orientation, Graduate Professional Days, Fall Family Weekend, parent's club events, WVU athletic events, etc.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or related field
  • A minimum of one (1) year of related experience
  • Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience will be considered.
  • All qualifications must be met by the time of employment.

  • Experience in marketing goal development, tracking and analytics
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strong customer relationships
  • Ability to develop and execute multichannel communications and marketing plans
  • Ability to clearly articulate (written and verbal) strategies and plans to achieve goals
  • Demonstrated ability to develop written communications
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities
  • Self-starter and can lead independently and proactively
  • Strong analytical skills, problem-solving and high attention to detail
  • Ability to adhere to WVU brand guidelines
  • Ability to keep abreast of changing technology as it impacts marketing and make necessary changes
