Job Duties |
The Pathway Program Coordinator engages in marketing, outreach, and recruiting of prospective students for academic programs in the College of Engineering and Technology (
CET). The coordinator collaborates with program faculty and staff to develop and communicate information about
CET degree programs to audiences of interest including K12 students and families, community college students, military personnel, and adult learners. The coordinator works with the
CET Associate Dean for Student Affairs,
CET program faculty,
CET centers, and community college partners to coordinate strategic marketing and outreach efforts, in person and online, leading to greater awareness and engagement of prospective students, families, K12 teachers, and other partners in pathways leading to enrollment in
CET degree programs.
Recruitment/Engagement of Prospective Students - 80%
- Assist Associate Dean (AD) for Student Affairs and CET program faculty with contact and communication with prospective students and families.
- Collect and provide outreach and recruiting data to AD & Student Success Center (SSC) Assistant Director for Student Success Management Systems for analysis.
- Provide individual and group appointments to prospective/current students for questions regarding CET majors and related careers.
- Provide community college virtual and On-Site Program Outreach attendance, coordination, and engagement.
- Maintain contact and sustain dialogue, via customer relationship management (CRM) systems and other communication channels, with prospective ECU/CET students, families, and other community partners (e.g., influencers such as teachers, STEM coordinators, and community partners) to raise awareness of STEM career paths and market educational pathways leading to enrollment in CET degree programs.
- Collaborate with current ECU/CET students, SSC staff, CET program faculty, CET centers, community college staff, and community partners to develop and implement programs designed to raise awareness of STEM career paths and help students set and achieve educational and career goals.
- Engage in frequent offsite travel to schools, community colleges, and industry partner sites with a blend of on and off-campus activities.
Project Management/Administration/Leadership - 20%
- Maintain a schedule of events and seek new opportunities to share information about CET programs with a broad audience
- Develop new marketing tools (literature, digital content, demonstrations) in collaborations with academic departments and other SSC staff and ECU Creative Services
- Follow up with contacts to provide any additional information and to maintain relationships.
- Work with the Associate Dean for Student Affairs and other SSC staff to assist with CET community college recruitment, outreach, and collaboration.
- Collaborate with SSC staff and academic program faculty to plan campus recruiting activities, including work to secure volunteers for programs such as ECU Open House, CET Tech Tours, and Admitted Students Day (Pirates Aboard)
- Track interactions and activities related to position, including recruitment, outreach, and academic advising (student record maintenance) in collaboration with SSC Assistant Director for Student Success Management Systems.
- Oversee special projects and recruitment/outreach initiatives independently.

Minimum Education/Experience |
Post-baccalaureate degree required; will accept in substitution a baccalaureate degree and 2 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education |
Degree in marketing, communication, or a
STEM discipline represented within the College. Work experience in any of the following areas: any
STEM career field served by current
CET degree programs; marketing, outreach, and/or sales in K12 or higher education; K12 or community college
STEM education; middle or high school career counseling.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to effectively present information about
STEM degree programs to large and small groups.
Experience with
CRM systems (Salesforce or similar) and customer/client engagement activities. |
