Job Summary:
Job Summary The Quarry Project Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating daily operations within the quarry, ensuring safety, efficiency, and productivity. This role involves supervising staff, managing resources, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quarry operations, heavy equipment operations, project management, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
Essential Duties
- Supervise Daily Operations: Oversee all aspects of daily quarry operations, including excavation, processing, and material handling, and project work..
- Manage Staff: Supervise, train, manage time cards, and mentor quarry and project related personnel, including equipment operators, laborers, and contractors.
- Ensure Safety: Enforce all safety regulations and procedures, conduct safety meetings, and promote a strong safety culture.
- Monitor Production: Monitor production levels, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and optimize processes to maximize efficiency and output.
- Resource Management: Manage resources effectively, including equipment, materials, and personnel, to ensure smooth and cost-effective operations.
- Equipment Maintenance: Coordinate equipment maintenance and repairs to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
- Quality Control: Ensure that materials meet quality standards and specifications.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations, permits, and company policies.
- Problem Solving: Identify and resolve operational issues, equipment malfunctions, and other challenges that may arise.
- Reporting: Prepare and submit regular reports on production, safety, and operational performance.
- Project Management: Assist in planning and executing quarry development projects, expansions, or improvements.
- Budget Management: Assist the Quarry Manager in developing and managing the quarry budget.
Qualifications Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor's degree in mining engineering, civil engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- 5 years of experience in excavation / earth work / quarry operations, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of excavation / earth work / quarry equipment, operations, and processes.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and interpret mine plans, maps, and technical drawings.
- Proficiency in Google Suite.
- Knowledge of relevant safety regulations (e.g., MSHA) and environmental compliance requirements.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.
General Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in an outdoor environment with exposure to varying weather conditions.
- Ability to walk, stand, climb, and lift heavy objects.
- Ability to work in noisy and dusty conditions.
Technical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Blasting certification.
- Experience with SAP
- Experience with Tremble GPS
Qualifications Preferred
