Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Project Assistant.
The Section for Health Equity at NYU School of Medicine's Department of Population Health is looking to hire a Project Assistant. The Project Assistant will work on initiatives focused on improving food access and nutrition in the local community and in the US more broadly. The Project Assistant will primarily be expected to lead the development and writing of a literature review examining dietary intake among individuals who have moved to the United States.
Job Responsibilities:
- Scoping review - Develop and write a scoping review centering dietary intake among individuals who have moved to the United States. Specific responsibilities are to help: draft the scoping review protocol; develop search term strategies with a medical school librarian; screen titles, abstracts, and full text articles; extract relevant data; and co-author manuscript.
- Collaboration - Engage in weekly meetings and supervision.
- Other research-related activities as needed (e.g., pulling references, creating summary tables)
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a 1. Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree.
2. Strong written skills for public health, nutrition peer-reviewed products.
3. Background and/or coursework in public health or related research.
4. Effective communication and time management skills.
5. Ability to work within a team environment as well as independently.
6. Proficiency in using various Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Familiar with Internet applications and reference manager software.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Experience in manuscript writing and history of publications.
2. Experience using Covidence.
3. Commitment to health disparities in immigrant and minority communities.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $23.13 - $24.00 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
