Your Role

Mission - The business unit controller will be a strategic partner supporting the respective Vice-President of the business unit and will be responsible for reporting product profitability and key metrics analysis.

Advise and consult product management regarding profit improvement and performance issues based on financial trending and other methods of analysis. Develop financial forecast and sensitivity models to predict the financial impact on the company of various strategic decisions. Develop cost/pricing models of various product lines, working with other departments to gather relevant data. Develop and coordinate the budget process, and the continued monitoring of budget vs. actual.

Assist business unit vice president with the development of long range plan. Manage revenue recognition policies and practices. Provide regular updates to forecast. Perform analysis of financial and non-financial key performance indicators, report on trends and make recommendation on improving analysis performance.

Design, develop and implement models and databases for analysis of management reports. Design and implement systems/procedures to capture financial/statistical data as needed.

Perform on-going competitive assessments on the existing and emerging competitors in our major markets. Prepare explanations and reports for monthly financial and operations reviews. Act as key contributor to periodic executive management reporting including the compilations and distillation of the relevant information and recommendations to the business leaders.

Lead processes development that relates to cost management. Acquisition support for internal integration of acquired companies and analysis of potential targets to further the ongoing strategy of growth through acquisition. Develop efficiency planning. Working with division and business general management, develop plans to drive improvements in business efficiency. Communicate well with other teams in the company. This includes 2-way communication on customer credit, AP/AR and other finance related items that have a direct impact on customer satisfaction. Develop competencies of the finance team. Support inventory management and recommend necessary improvements to achieve company Targets.

To succeed, you will need

Experience - Five years of experience in a technical sales or manufacturing environment with international subsidiaries. Experience with a global technology driven organization a plus. Experience with financial models a plus.

Education - 4-Year degree (B.S. or B.A.) in accounting or finance, MBA and/or CPA a plus.

Skills - Must possess strong quantitative and analytical skills with ability to adapt skills to a wide variety of changing analytical situations. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Excellent computer aptitude specifically in the area of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Experienced in using computerized accounting and financial reporting systems.

Must have a strong desire to succeed in a very dynamic environment. Must demonstrate initiative and innovation in problem solving and anticipating business needs. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple concurrent projects with resiliency, work hours as required to get the job done, and travel independently and in some cases overseas travel required.
