Accounting Manager

We are searching for an
experienced Accounting Manager at our Headquarters facility in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

The Accounting Manager will support Forest Resources and the Financial Services group in executing the business plan by providing support
for the establishment and operation of the financial and business systems
relating to Forest Resources. The
position is responsible for the tracking and reporting of capital
expenditures for Forest Resources; the creation, analysis and presentation of the
financial statements in accordance with GAAP; and for maintaining an effective
internal control system over division assets.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

-Assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring internal controls and accounting processes for the businesses, the application of GAAP, and other corporate accounting policies.

-Assist in the design and implementation of financial systems for the business.

-Prepare financial analyses for the Division Controller, Managers, and Business Leader. This includes preparation of monthly financial statements and other managerial reports; researching variances between current year and prior year actual financial information; and comparing current year actual and budget financial information.

-Schedule, coordinate, manage and prepare all information for monthly closings to analyze and review monthly results with the Division Controller, Business Leader and Managers. Collaborating closely with operations to influence the decision-making process within each business.

-Complete special projects to support Division Controller, Business Leader and other key managers. Special projects include pro forma financial analysis, capital project evaluations, cost analysis, etc.

-Schedule, coordinate, and manage all information obtained from working closely with the Division Controller, Business Leader, and Managers to prepare annual and quarterly operating budgets and forecasts.

-Perform monthly account reconciliations and balance sheet review.

-Conduct internal audit process on a quarterly basis and coordinate with appropriate managers regarding any exceptions.

-Manage financial administration for LIMS. Ensure that the system functions properly each week to accurately create accounts payable for producer and landowner payments as well as accounts receivable for customers. Create and maintain mapping for the interfaces with the Workday accounting system. Responsible for generation and accuracy of 1099's from LIMS.

-Coordinate with interns each week to ensure that transactional LIMS reporting is completed accurately and on time.

-Work in a team environment with other departments to design financial programs and processes.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field
  • 3 to 7 years relevant experience
  • Experience with Workday preferred
  • Experience with discounted cash flow analysis
  • Effective team building and strong communication skills
  • Ability
    to extract, review and analyze large volumes of data
  • Ability
    to manage multiple priorities with competence and little direct supervision
  • Knowledge of financial and economic business processes
  • Knowledge of monthly accounting processes
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

base salary range for this position is $72,400 - $108,600. Actual base salary is based on the experience and
qualifications of the selected candidate.
