What You'll Do

As the Underground Mining Supervisor, you will execute underground equipment trials and provide field support for customers and joint ventures. You will be responsible for maintain and operate Dyno fleet as well as work with Engineering and fabricators on delivery and commissioning of new equipment. Other duties include:

  • Assume full curatorship of equipment during trials and be up to date on training
  • Participate in maintenance procedures as well as SOP's for operation of the underground equipment.
  • Provide on-site training and knowledge support for all channels to market.
  • Oversee and maintain critical spare parts inventory.
  • Identify opportunities for improved process efficiency, optimization, and implementation
  • Provide field support for underground trials.
  • Coordinate mobilization and operate DynoMiner equipment at underground sites
  • Provide maintenance of trial DynoMiners and perform preventative maintenance.
  • Support sales and customer needs during underground trials.
  • Train and coach employees/JV partners/customers to safely follow the DynoMiner standard operating procedures.
  • Highlight improvements in efficiency of underground loading and demonstrate other benefits of bulk emulsion.
  • Proactively handle safety issues.
  • Comply with all applicable Dyno Nobel, federal, state and regional regulations.
  • Report all near-misses, incidents and hazardous conditions to appropriate supervisors.
  • Comply with appropriate areas of the HSE Management System and Dyno Nobel Engineering Standards.
  • Actively comply with applicable regulatory health and safety policies and practices in order to ensure personal safety and the safety of employees, company assets, environment, and regulatory compliance.

What We're Looking For:

  • High school and a technical qualification preferred (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic).
  • 6+ years working experience in the explosives industry or underground operations
  • Working knowledge of relevant Company and regulatory standards (DOT, OSHA, MSHA).
  • Computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • May be required to function as trainer or project coordinator for underground trials.
  • May be required to perform technical evaluations and audits as well as provide field support for DynoMiner equipment and products.
  • Contribute to writing training documents.
  • Mechanical knowledge of DynoMiners
  • Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and a team player
