Overview To supervise and administer internal and external communications strategy for the Department. To develop, implement, and evaluate change management solutions to ensure success of Department goals. Responsibilities
- Responsible for developing, implementing and measuring internal communications strategies, plans and tactics for high-visibility, significant strategy, change and business unit communications.
- Applies expert knowledge of communications data, best practices and trends to design effective communications methods and promote continuous improvement.
- Serves as a partner, subject matter expert and main point of contact to senior leaders, providing insight, perspective and counsel on communications strategies and issues.
- Serves as change communications lead for projects; applies change management principles and knowledge to develop effective communications strategies, including change communications plans, messages, and tactics. Evaluates and measures effectiveness of change communications activities.
- Writes, edits, distributes and measures strategic and timely business announcements, talking points, scripts, news items, digital content, infographics, Q&As, articles, videos and more.
- Conceptualizes, produces and/or oversees production of a diverse array of content related to strategy, change and business unit communications that inform and inspire employees.
- Plans and orchestrates content and logistics for executive and employee events.
- Produces reports and makes presentations to senior management.
- Measures and analyzes effectiveness of communications activities; builds awareness with partners on how communications are performing; modifies approach, as needed, to improve performance.
- Coaches and counsels other teammates.
- Partners with internal communicators across the enterprise on the implementation of enterprise or business unit employee campaigns, ensuring all communications strategies and tactics are consistent with the company's strategic vision, messaging and brand.
- Directs work of partnering communicators, analyzes productivity and results, and resolves problems.
- Ensures communications are aligned and in compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, rules, regulations and Navy Federal's values and brand.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Journalism, or related field or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Strong judgement, problem solving and organizational skills, superb attention to detail and the ability to interpret business initiatives in a simple, compelling way for diverse audiences across the company.
- Ready to play a critical role in complex, high-impact strategic initiatives with strong business acumen and organizational dynamics.
- Confident, positive, poised, approachable, Highly collaborative, inquisitive, and resourceful; thrives "at the table" with senior leaders; adept at providing strategic communications counsel to business partners and stakeholders.
- Excel at planning, time-management, prioritization and organization; thrive in fast-paced, action-oriented environments; able to juggle multiple projects simultaneously, reprioritize quickly and meet changing requirements and priorities to accomplish goals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong judgement, problem solving and organizational skills, and superb attention to detail.
- Extensive writing and editorial experience in a variety of channels and styles, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Will seek writing samples from candidates.
- Thorough knowledge of change management principles and practices.
- Familiarity using, inputting and reporting from project management software as a means to track progress against campaigns.
- Experience developing, executing and measuring corporate internal communications campaigns.
- Experience using analytics to not only measure success, but to modify an approach and drive positive change.
- Ability to deal tactfully with all levels of the work force and management.
- Strong ability to research, analyze and organize concepts.
- Enjoy translating complex topics into easily understandable communications.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of the financial services environment.
- Familiarity with the Adobe Suite of products and a basic understanding of HTM is a plus.
- Experience with Associated Press Style.
- Experience producing omni-channel editorial content for a newspaper, news channel, video, magazine or other venue.
