Summary of Job Duties:The Payment Posting Manager manages the daily operations of the Payment Posting/Claiming Unit and is responsible for defining and meeting short and long term goals. The position serves as an expert resource to personnel throughout CCBO Billing on matters related to payment processing The position monitors unposted payments relative to staffing, establishes priorities and adjusts assignments to ensure posting deadlines are met. The position facilitates workflow within the unit by processing payments as needed and/or working specials assignments. Responsible for hiring, terminating, development and discipline of employees. Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field plus 5 years' experience in medical service, billing, coding and reimbursement activities
  • OR high school diploma, GED or formal education equivalent plus 9 years equivalent combination of education and experience in medical services, billing, coding and reimbursement activities.
  • Two years' experience in leadership/supervisory role required.
  • Must display exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Additional Information:

  • The Cash/Payment Posting Manager manages the daily operations of the unit and facilitates workflow within the unit by processing payments, claiming, and balancing as needed and/or working specials assignments.
  • Monitors unposted payments relative to staffing, establishes priorities and adjusts assignments to ensure posting deadlines are met.
  • Monitors status of refund requests and accounts to which unidentified payments and recoupments are posted.
  • Ensure that manual payment batches and electronic payment runs are processed efficiently and timely.
  • Monitors payment related work queues to insure next steps of the billing cycle are implemented.
  • Serves as an expert resource to personnel throughout CCBO Billing on matters related to payment processing.
  • Monitors Click and Claim to make sure all PB payments are getting claimed and posted into EPIC.
  • Also serves as a technical advisor of EPIC remittance and related work queues for PB CCBO.
  • Works closely for corrections and ledger balancing. Oversees staff missing check searches and ensures payments found are applied correctly to accounts.
  • Performs monthly evaluations and gives feedback to employee based on productivity and work quality/adherence to policies/procedures.
  • Maintains disciplinary action records for staff and issues progressive discipline as necessary.
  • Updates time keeping records for staff and processes staff terminations.
  • This position also manages ongoing development, implementation, revision and communication of policies and procedures, standards and system/payer changes and developments.
  • Provides oversight for training of new employees, or for retraining of existing staff as business practices change.
  • Functions as a key member of the Operations management team, conducts and participates in meetings, and provides reports to Director as needed.
  • Establishes annual measurable personable and unit goals accompanied by an action plan.
  • Manager also recruits and hires qualified staff as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned .
