Position Title: Senior Director of Finance

Reports To:SVP of Finance

Schedule: Monday through Friday business hours and additional as required

Location: Dania Beach, FL.

Required Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field

Experience

10+ years of progressive finance experience with at least 5 years in leadership roles. Advanced SQL or equivalent skills for complex data queries and database management. Proficiency in Power BI, Tableau, or similar business intelligence platforms. Experience designing and implementing data warehouse solutions. Expertise in ETL processes and data integration across multiple systems. Hands-on experience with financial modeling tools and techniques. Knowledge of Python, R, or similar languages for financial analysis is a plus. Strong understanding of data governance and data quality management

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Senior Director of Finance will provide strategic financial leadership across FP&A, data analytics, commercial finance, operations finance, and treasury functions. This role will drive financial insights through data, spearhead automation initiatives, and serve as a key business partner to executive leadership in a U.S. Jones Act maritime organization. Duties and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Lead the annual budgeting process and ongoing forecasting activities
  • Develop sophisticated financial models to evaluate business performance and provide executive leadership with actionable insights
  • Create and maintain dynamic short-term and long-term financial forecast models to support strategic planning, capital allocation, and investor communications
  • Prepare executive-level reporting and presentations for Board meetings

Data & Analytics

  • Transform financial data into strategic insights that drive business decisions
  • Build and oversee advanced dashboards for real-time financial monitoring
  • Design and implement data warehouse solutions to centralize financial information
  • Lead cross-functional data initiatives to improve financial visibility
  • Develop predictive analytics models to forecast business trends
  • Create automated reporting solutions through SQL or other visualization tools

Commercial Finance

  • Partner with commercial teams to optimize pricing strategies and contract structures
  • Evaluate the financial implications of new service offerings and market expansions
  • Perform sophisticated ROI analyses for commercial initiatives
  • Develop profitability models for vessel operations and service lines

Operations Finance

  • Optimize cost structures across the maritime fleet and shore-side operations
  • Analyze vessel utilization, operations costs, and revenue potential
  • Identify efficiency opportunities through data-driven analysis
  • Support capital expenditure planning for vessel maintenance, drydocks, and improvements

Treasury

  • Manage comprehensive cash flow forecasting and cash management strategies
  • Develop integrated 3-statement financial models to optimize liquidity management and enhance treasury decision-making

Automation & Process Improvement

  • Lead initiatives to automate routine financial processes and reporting
  • Implement advanced financial systems to improve efficiency and data quality
  • Develop standardized reporting frameworks across the organization
  • Continuously improve financial processes to reduce manual effort
