ualr.edu/downtown Summary of Job Duties:The Programming and Administrative Assistant assists in the management of administrative and programming operations of UA Little Rock Downtown under the direction of the UA Little Rock Downtown Director. The Programming and Administrative Assistant facilitates the design, development, and implementation of original programming that supports the UA Little Rock Downtown mission.

The Programming and Administrative Assistant assists the Director with designing, developing, and implementing original programming, including lectures, exhibits, and educational programs for K-12, college students, and the public; and the day-to-day operations, including management of budget and grant funds, preparation of required reports, support for events and activities in the Center, support of partnerships and relationships of the university community, and public outreach and communications, including social media. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy. Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree.

Preferred Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a social science, humanities, or arts discipline.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with designing, developing, and implementing original programming, including lectures, exhibits, and educational programs for K 12, college students, and the public;

  • Provide support for events and activities in UA Little Rock Downtown;

  • Assist with public outreach and communication activities, including the regular maintenance of social media accounts, and mailing lists, and the development and distribution of promotional materials;

  • Assist with the development and support of partnerships of relationships with the university community;

  • Assist with the development and support of relationships and partnership with off-campus partners and the public;

  • Provide administrative assistance with general office needs to ensure the smooth day-to-day operations of UA Little Rock Downtown;

  • Initiate documents related to expenditures and assist the Director in monitoring the management of financial affairs for UA Little Rock Downtown to include tasks related to procurement, grants, travel, employment, and event organization;

  • Assist with the preparation of internal reports and grant applications;

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent project management and organizational skills;

  • Strong computer and technical skills. Experience with WorkDay required;

  • Demonstrated experience in finance;

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively;

  • Knowledge of general library and/or archival collections, services, and systems desirable;

  • Commitment and ability to work effectively with diverse populations in a collegial environment.
