FLSA Administrative Exemption

Length of Assignment 10 Month At-Will
Position Function
Will work in a laboratory environment with elementary, middle school and high school students, grades kindergarten through twelve. The school counselor will provide counseling and guidance services to students. Contract length is 204 days per academic year.
Minimum Education
Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited university by date of appointment.
Minimum Experience
Experience working in student advising and/or counseling position. May be as internship.
Minimum Other
Authorization to work in the US Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Education
Master's degree from a regionally accredited university in education, counseling, or related field of study by date of employment.
Preferred Experience
One year of experience as a school counselor.
Preferred Other
Evidence of knowledge and skill in using educational technologies; evidence of knowledge and skill in working effectively with children with exceptionalities.
Pre-Employment Screening Requires successful completion of a background check and education verification.

Work with the administrators, faculty and staff to facilitate student success.

Work with students from special populations; i.e., special educations, at-risk, or gifted and talented.

Attend case conferences and 504 evaluations for grades K-12.

Oversee the reporting regarding child abuse, provide prevention services and serve on the crisis management team.

Complete state reports related to the position.
