SUMMARY:

This position's primary goal is to assist and solve customer needs with a strong focus on automotive parts expertise. The successful candidate will leverage deep knowledge of auto parts and components to research products and ensure accurate, detailed, and timely information is communicated to both internal and external customers. A solid understanding of vehicle systems and aftermarket parts is essential to succeed in this role.



DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Research and verify automotive parts information, including applications, specifications, and fitment, using electronic media, manufacturer websites, and product catalogs
  • Apply technical knowledge of automotive components to ensure the correct part is identified and communicated
  • Provide an exceptional customer experience via email and phone by delivering confident, parts-accurate support
  • Follow-up with customers on the same day via email or call to close requests or clarify technical information
  • Evaluate and convey part quality concerns or application mismatches to appropriate departments or leadership
  • Resolve customer complaints and escalate complex or technical product issues to Product Specialists or management as needed
  • Collaborate closely with Sales Teams, Buyers, and Product Line Specialists to support customer and business needs with accurate part data
  • Enter and maintain automotive product data within the Item Master, ensuring alignment with vendor and catalog information
  • Understand and apply knowledge of the Line Card and top vendors to recommend the best sources for requested auto parts
  • Stay current on trends, new technologies, and part number updates within the automotive industry
  • Other duties as assigned


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:



  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least 1 year of direct experience working with automotive parts (e.g., in customer service, procurement, parts counter, or cataloging)
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills in verbal, written, and electronic formats; must be comfortable explaining technical parts information to a range of audiences
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel


PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:



  • Associate degree in a relevant field (automotive technology, business, or related)
  • 1+ years of experience in Microsoft Excel and Outlook
  • 1+ years of experience in Vendor Category Management, automotive product research, or similar roles involving auto parts
