The Bakery Oven Operator is responsible for the precise baking of various products, adhering to specific baking profiles. This includes monitoring product quality throughout the baking process, from the proofer to the cooling conveyor, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. This role also involves some team leadership and coordination responsibilities.

Responsibilities



  • Ensure product is formed and sliced to meet specifications.
  • Monitor product quality on proofer plates and exiting the oven.
  • Optimize product alignment on proofer plates for efficient oven entry.
  • Coordinate activities of oven area employees, including training, work assignment, and direction.
  • Ensure proper alignment of baked product onto the cooling conveyor.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of the proofer and oven areas.
  • Manage cutting blades, ensuring sharpness and proper disposal.
  • Assist operator to maintain process control of the Proof Box and Oven
  • Ensure all data entry is entered accurately and on a timely manner.
  • Through Aspire AOE training understands and uses Centerline and CIL daily management systems
  • Participate in root cause analysis and problem-solving process
  • Performs area walk daily to detect issues & defects to help reduce and maintain waste levels
  • Follows standard work procedures and trains others on current best approach to minimize system variation
  • Contributes to a culture of continuous improvement by sharing improvement ideas with management and actively engaging in AOE pillar activities.


  • Adhere to GMPs and Health and Safety rules outlined in the employee handbook, including:

    • Maintains a clean, organized, and safe working environment in assigned production areas and workstations.
    • Immediately report any unsafe conditions, incidents, or injuries to a supervisor or lead hand.
    • Using all required personal protective equipment.




  • Adhere to and ensure compliance with food safety practices, including:

    • Maintaining all tools in good repair and reporting any broken, damaged, or missing tools to a supervisor or lead hand (do not discard damaged tools).
    • Following all GMPs, including maintaining personal hygiene, handwashing/sanitizing, and cleaning up spills (ingredients, water, debris, wood, etc.).
    • Report any issues or deviations to supervisors, including immediately reporting any potential contamination or suspicious activity to line leadership.
    • Reporting any unusual people or behaviors to a supervisor as a part of food security protocols.




  • Additional tasks may be assigned as neede



Qualifications:



  • High School Diploma or GED is required
  • Ability to write clearly and legibly and possess basic effective verbal and written skills in English.
  • Oral Communication - Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions; participates in meetings.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have the ability to work with computers and operating screens.



Shift: 1st Shift 6am-2:30pm ( Must be able to work weekends)
