Assistant Coach - Soccer

Summary
Assist head coach in all aspects of developing and maintaining a competitive intercollegiate sport program within the NCAA and Big Ten Conference. Establish and maintain effective relationships within the athletics department, the University, community, donors, alumni, club & high school coaches, media and the general public. Represent the University and its athletic programs in a positive fashion in private and public forums. Assist in advancing the department's mission, vision, and strategic plan including its commitment to equity and diversity. Commit to adhering to all rules and regulations of the Department, the University, the Big Ten Conference, and the NCAA.

Duties:
30% of time - Instruct and teach student-athletes in fundamentals of sport technique and strategy.

• Plan and execute practice and competition plans.
• Assist in film breakdown, analysis of film breakdown, & scouting of opponents.
• Set up & execute additional small group & individual training.

30% of time - Evaluate and recruit qualified student-athletes to the University of Minnesota whose athletic skills make them highly competitive in the Big Ten and whose academic abilities make them good candidates for a meaningful academic experience and graduation from the University of Minnesota.

• Maintain JumpForward Database
• Set up coaching staff schedule of who is covering what events
• Travel to games/events to evaluate potential student-athletes
• Set schedules for the events to ensure we cover everything needed
• Consistent communication with potential student-athletes, club coaches, etc. throughout the process; set up our coaching staff calendars for that communication
• Coordinate official & unofficial visits to campus
• Other recruiting duties as assigned by head coach

• Serve as a positive leader who earns the respect of the student-athletes, holds high standards, and demonstrates an unwavering work ethic.
• Perform administrative responsibilities as assigned by head coach.
• Provide opportunities for student-athletes to develop life and leadership skills under the direction of the head coach.
• Assist in monitoring the academic performance of student-athletes to help them achieve full potential.

Required:

• Bachelor's degree required
• Experience coaching goalkeepers at the collegiate or professional level and/or competing as a goalkeeper at a high level.

Preferred:

• Master's degree preferred
• 3-5 years experience training high level goal-keepers
• Demonstrated track record of recruiting high level players at the Division 1 level

Pay Range: $45,000.00 - $47,000.00 annually; depending on education/qualifications/experience
