Job Title: Toolroom/Repairer A

Location: Pascagoula, Mississippi

General Function

The Toolroom/Repairer A is responsible for repairing small to medium-sized tools-including air, pneumatic, and electric-powered equipment-used throughout the facility. This role includes equipment testing for functionality and safety, ordering repair parts, and assisting in tool issuance. The position supports operational readiness by ensuring tools are properly maintained and available for use.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

* Inspect, diagnose, and repair small to medium-sized tools and equipment such as:

o Come-a-longs

o Chain falls

o Diaphragm pumps

o Grinders

o Scaling guns

o Torches

o Bottle jacks

o Porta-power devices

* Perform post-repair functionality and safety testing to ensure proper operation.

* Order and manage inventory of parts and materials required for repair work.

* Assist with issuing tools and equipment to employees as needed.

* Ensure repaired tools are stored in designated areas for efficient access and inventory control.

Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

* Working knowledge of hand tools used in repairs, including wrenches, screwdrivers, and similar instruments.

* Familiarity with hydraulic systems, electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and/or blueprints.

* Ability to follow safety protocols and conduct functional tests with attention to detail.

* Strong organizational and communication skills for tool issuance and equipment tracking.

Desirable Experience and Training

* Prior experience in a shipyard or an industrial setting involving the maintenance and use of small tools and equipment is preferred.
