Provide superior customer service while maintaining a clean and attractive outlet for guests.
The ideal candidate has strong selling skills and experience, preferably in fashion, accessories, specialty and/or luxury retail and has a strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and possesses excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Candidates must have open availability and flexibility to work according to needs of the business and to ensure store objectives are met (Flexible Schedule). The ideal candidate will also exceed sales targets as directed by management, proactively develop a local client portfolio, and ensure a unique guest and client experience throughout all touch points. This individual will be an active participant in the daily operational responsibilities of the Retail Department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Greet customers immediately with a friendly and sincere welcome. Use a positive and clear speaking voice, listen to, and understand requests. Prepare customers' orders as requested accurately and efficiently. Ring guest check correctly. Close the check to the proper method of payment, (i.e., cash, credit card or house charge). Ensures guest satisfaction; in the event of dissatisfaction, tactfully negotiates resolution. Maintain the highest level of standards for all product preparation. Clean or sanitize work areas, utensils, equipment, service stations or seating areas. Comply with accounting guidelines regarding receipt of payments, check total verification, tip disbursement, cash drawer and house bank management. Balance house bank at the end of the shift. Retrieves and returns bank from vault to workstation and return, to ensure accountability. Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis. Perform any other job-related duties as assigned. Sales Achievement: - Consistently achieve and/or exceed the monthly sales target, as directed by management.
- Ensure that each guests receives outstanding and exceptional customer service by providing a friendly environment which includes greeting and acknowledging every guest, maintaining outstanding grooming standards, expert product knowledge and all other components of Customer Service before, during and after sales.
- Adapt approach according to the guest's needs and negotiate and handle objections with ease.
- Act as a referent and provide recommendations that will provide an exceptional guest experience.
Client Relationship Management: - Cultivate new and existing internal and external client relationships through exceptional service and other Chateau Elan specific initiatives.
- Consistently and accurately capture client data for follow-up and relationship building, effectively utilizing the tools that are available.
- Appropriately resolve guest's issues/concerns and escalate as needed to Management.
- Partner with Management to develop a plan to support, and participate to, in-store and offsite events and networking.
Daily Boutique Operations: - Understand and comply with all Retail security and operational policies and procedures.
- Assist with daily set-up and breakdown of the boutique, and communicate on any maintenance issues.
- Assist in the merchandising and daily maintenance of displays and back-stock.
- Actively participate in daily, monthly, and annual inventories and cycle counts.
- Assist with special projects, as needed (i.e. price changes, supporting back office responsibilities, etc.)
- Remain current on retail industry trends and fashions.
Qualifications and Skills
Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, total all other charges, and understand portion sizes as relating to pricing. Ability to operate a keyboard and Point of Sale procedures. Ability to effectively deal with and resolve conflict situations, such as inaccurate check total. Ability to sit and/or stand and work continually in confined spaces with or without reasonable accommodation. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences, such as effectively communicating with supervisors, coworkers, public etc. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE - High School Diploma.
- Must be over 18 years of age.
- Minimum of 2 to 5 years of retail sales experience.
- Ability to read, count, and write to accurately complete all documentation.
- Ability to operate all equipment necessary to perform the job, including but not limited to standing, stooping, lifting and carrying up to 50lbs, climbing a ladder.
Technical Skills: - Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment
- Computer and Internet Savvy
- MS Office experience required, SAP knowledge preferred
Personal Skills/Abilities: - Strong understanding of Customer Service needs and priorities.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with precision.
- Self-Starter with Team-Player approach.
- Must be available to work retail hours including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ensure all assigned inventory counts are accurate.
- Protect assets against losses and shoplifting.
- Handle all POS transactions accurately. Follow proper procedures for credit card and room charge transactions. Adhere to the hotel cash handling policies.
- Assist in the training of new staff to ensure standard operating procedures are communicated and adhered to.
- Comply with attendance policies and procedures.
- Perform any other job related duties as assigned.
- Greet and acknowledge every customer, maintaining solid product knowledge and all other aspects of customer service.
- Maintain an awareness of all promotions and advertisements.
- Assist in floor moves, merchandising, display maintenance, and housekeeping
- Assist in processing and replenishing merchandise and monitoring floor stock.
- Operate a computerized POS cash register and inventory management system: including the accurate entering of sales information: receiving payment for products: processing credit card transactions; making correct change; processing refunds, exchanges and voids; and issuing gift certificates and credit slips.
- Reconcile daily sales and prepare deposits and end of day reports for management.
- Utilize a working knowledge of all retail merchandise including price, any special product considerations, and stock location in-store and in the back stockroom.
- Accurately perform all merchandise receipt processing, including processing in the POS system; merchandise inspection, tagging, stocking and display. Communicate all damages and wrong shipments to store management.
- Actively maintain the store appearance including keeping merchandise neatly organized and attractively displayed. Dust and clean shelves regularly, fold t-shirts and arrange merchandise to maintain the highest level of visual presentation.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
