Summary

We are seeking a Systems Administrator to oversee IT infrastructure while serving as the primary point of contact for help desk support and internal troubleshooting. This role involves managing servers, networks, and user devices, ensuring seamless IT operations. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to troubleshoot issues efficiently while communicating effectively with end users.

  • Work Location: On-site, 8 am - 5 pm Monday through Friday
  • Expected Compensation Range: $36-50 per hour (Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications)
  • Pay Rate Type: Hourly with overtime rate of 1.5x base pay for all hours worked over 40 in a week

Responsibilities

Help Desk & User Support

  • Act as the first point of contact for IT-related issues, providing deskside and remote support
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network problems for internal users
  • Ensure timely follow-up and resolution of tickets while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Train employees on best practices, software usage, and IT security

System Administration & Infrastructure Management

  • Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server 2016/2019 and newer
  • Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, and domain configurations
  • Perform system updates, patch management, and performance monitoring

Network & Security Management

  • Oversee DNS/DHCP management and troubleshoot network connectivity issues
  • Maintain firewall configurations, VPN access, and network security policies
  • Work with ISPs on connectivity issues and infrastructure improvements

Endpoint & Software Management

  • Manage desktop builds, imaging, and deployment using UEM solutions (Intune, SCCM, BigFix, etc.)
  • Configure and support business applications while troubleshooting system-level issues
  • Maintain printer installations and troubleshooting print server configurations

Documentation & Process Improvement

  • Develop knowledgebase articles and technical documentation for troubleshooting processes
  • Contribute to automation and system optimization through scripting (PowerShell, etc.)

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in system administration and help desk support
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with users
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues
  • Proficiency in IT management platforms (Intune, SCCM, BigFix, etc.)
  • Solid understanding of Windows Servers and Active Directory, networking technologies such as DNS and DHCP, Wireless Access Points, network switches, and firewalls
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • Industry certifications (CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Azure Administrator, etc.)
  • Familiarity with PowerShell scripting for automation and IT management
  • Experience with Autodesk or Bentley CAD software

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Work is primarily performed in an office environment
  • Ability to occasionally move equipment/objects weighing up to 10 pounds
